    1、《尼采》：Nietzsche：Disciple of Dionysus（Rose Pfeffer，Bucknell University Press，1974，297）
    2、淘了本1931年田中长三郎的小册子《泰西本草及び本草家》（岩波书店，1931-03-15，1931-03-20，49），是岩波讲座的一部分，里面引用29幅外文珍本植物学著作书影，除了1479年那本普林尼《自然史》是台北帝国大学的藏本外，其余都署着著者藏本，从摇篮本到十六、十七、十八世纪珍稀文献，田中都有，不愧是世界植物学著作的大收藏家，看一篇他学生的介绍，他那些书44年都被当敌产没收进入了台湾大学图书馆。

    写到此，心中有万般辛酸的感慨，过去三十年，我最怕带人参观长久以来一直在总图书馆黑暗的书库中当馆藏书保存的田中文库。感慨万千的原因是这一批书半世纪来没人用过，灰尘愈积愈厚，虫蛀愈来愈严重。这些先生经过精心搜罗的藏书代表他辉煌的生命历程却一直不见天日，让我有无能为力之悲哀。现在，田中文库终于有了好归宿，我心里非常高兴。更希望先生显灵，替自己的爱书找到络绎于途的读书人。
    综观田中先生的一生，不但留下很多不朽的篇章著作，成为这世纪柑橘学界的巨人，地位不可动摇。他在资源利用，特别是在食用植物资料方面对世人的贡献，更是难以估计，深信有一天必有无数的人将受惠于先生。
    田中先生是一位虔诚的基督教徒，田中柑橘记念会献给先生灵前的提摩太后书第四章，给提摩太的第二封信，最能表现先生的一生，谨录如下：
    「那美好的仗，我已经打过了；该跑的路，我已经跑尽了；所信的道，我已经守住了；
    从此以后，有公义的冠冕为我存留，就是按着公义审判的主，到了那日要赐给我的；
    不但赐给我，也赐给凡爱慕他显现的人。」
